The kids did super this week! We love to see them listening, having fun, and participating as we focus on what God wants for their lives. In general, the kids were great coming in and knowing how we do backpacks and small groups. Things went smoothly. Dismissal was difficult this week, so we will go back to coming out the front door each time at 4:00PM! Thanks for your patience as we figure out what works best for the kids and volunteers. Please wait outside and check in with your child's small group leader so we know who is picking up. We want to keep your kids safe.
Ask you kids if they can clap, snap, or stomp out our memory verse. We are repeating the one from last week. This is a great truth to carry through life! “I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13
Our game today was a farkle game with Daniel, Lion, and King. The kids from each team showed great participation and sportsmanship!
The kids love the interactive music with motions. They will definitely go home knowing Romans 16:19. We chose that as we focus this semester on making right/wise choices that please God.
The story was from Daniel 2 as King Nebuchadnezzar tries to have his dreams interpreted. Our crazy story teller, Carrie Patterson, came out in her robe and curlers to ask about what her dream meant. In the Bible, Daniel asks God for wisdom on what the dream meant for the king. We want our kids to seek God for wisdom with decisions. ASK was our acronym.
Ask God
Seek answers in the Bible and from His people
Keep believing God will answer
Our small group time continued this discussion. We gave them scenarios to think about which were wise or unwise choices. Some groups got to the exercise practicing pulling someone down from a standing position is easy like unwise choices are often easier to make than the right ones. The kids had a harder time lefting the kids up to a standing position which was symbolic of right choices.
Older groups had the kids Read Proverbs 9:10 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.” Wisdom is not about knowledge. It is a Biblical term for living each day the right way. It means making the right choices in life. These right choices are based on the truth found in the Bible. True wisdom is living your life based on making the choices Jesus would make, which starts with having a relationship with Jesus and choose to live your life under His Lordship.A Huge Thanks for letting us serve your kids- from your Good News Club Team!
